]]>The origins of the word “Cocktail” are unclear. Many people suspect that it comes from the french word coqueter (to flirt), which was adopted into the english language. Others believe that the word comes from the colorful feathers of a rooster’s or cock’s tail. Originally taken as a morning tonic, today these sweet drinks take many forms.
Take 20 mL Blue Curacao alcohol-free, 80 mL grapefruit juice, 80 mL orange juice and 20 mL coconut syrup. Then mix in a shaker and serve in a cocktail glass with crushed ice. Finished.

]]>The entire team at the Swissôtel Düsseldorf Neuss is proud, because in the last 3 years it was able to accompany three trainees, two hotel specialists and a trainee chef, on their way to their dream job and send them out into the hotel world with pride in their hard work. Although that’s only partially true, because Frau Schönwald will remain with us as an employee at our front office. But the hotel is also sure that it will see the other two graduates again, because according to the Hotel Director Hidir Özdemir: „You always meet twice in life and in the hotel industry at least three times.“ We wish our former trainees all the very best for their future careers, which they have definitely earned themselves.

For Easter the Sales Team presented not only all kinds of Easter surprises, but also a cheque for 500.00 €. “At the hotel we have a lot to do with people, therefore it is completely natural that social engagement takes a very high priority with us. We not only take responsibility for ourselves, but also for others.” said Barbara Bücken, Communications Manager at the Swissôtel Düsseldorf/Neuss who is very pleased with the successful Easter Celebrations at the Kinderdorf Niederrhein in 2015.

]]>In mid-March 2015 the HR Director of the Swissotel Düsseldorf/Neuss Herta Alice Heitzer celebrated her 33 years of service.
Since the beginning she has been loyal to the Hotel and its employees in Neuss on the Rheinallee, and has accompanied the hotel through wonderful but also tough times. To honour her, many former colleagues visited the Swissotel to celebrate with her and the current team. Over the years about 700 employees (current and former) have trained under her supervision.
She was awarded a prize for her work by the EVENT Hotel Group. Colleagues from various committees such as the DEHOGA, Wirtschaft pro Schule, the ADS Berufskolleg and the Arbeitskreis der Personalleiter thanked her for her excellent collaboration over all these years.
